50 euro

The 50 euro bill is a banknote of the euro currency. It is the second-lowest value note in circulation in the eurozone, after the 5 euro note. The bill was introduced on 1 January 2002, and was initially only available in the denominations of 50, 100, and 200 euros. The 500 euro note was added to the range of denominations in November 2007. The 50 euro note measures 145 x 72 mm and has a green color scheme. The front of the note features a portrait of Europa, the female figure from Greek mythology, and the back features a map of the European Union.

The 50 euro bill is one of the most common banknotes in Europe, with over 9 billion in circulation as of October 2017. It is also one of the most counterfeited banknotes in the world, with an estimated 1 in every 20 bills being a counterfeit.
